You Only Live Once. Be Sure to Make the Best of it!

Today was such a beautiful day for a ride with the family up the mountains to Backbone Rock in Northeast TN.  Time sure does go fast when it comes to seeing your children grow. Look at how much has changed in just 6 short years in the above photo.  If you don't live in the mountains it is something that everyone must see before they die.  The fall foliage is simple gorgeous this time of year. The mountains are all yellow, red, orange and green.  Simple beautiful is all I know how to describe it all.
If you are planning on visiting Backbone Rock I would suggest some shoes with good grips on the bottoms ( because although there are steps to get up to the top the fallen leaves get slippery at times) Make sure you are not in pain on the day of your trip or you won't make it to the top.  Pack you some Ibuprofen just in case. I wasn't even in much pain today and it took all i had in me to get up to the top but of course my kids and husband tackled the task at hand just fine.
I know it is so easy to let chronic pain get you down and want  to just give up and you have every right to have days were you don't wanna do anything or can't do anything ,I should say.  I know I've been there a bunch of times but all i'm saying is enjoy those good days and get outside and take advantage of all the beauty that God has created right in front of you because before long life will have passed you by and you will be wondering were that time has gone that you can no longer get back.  You don't have to climb up a giant hill like I did just get out every once and awhile and enjoy the cool air the golden colors of fall.  ( I speak for myself as well.  It gets very easy to shut the world out when you have a chronic illness.  Feelings of giving up. Isolation because others just don't understand or think you are just overeacting)
If you are reading this I pray for you to have many more pain free days than pain full.  Don't forget to come join a great group of people that know first hand what you are dealing with everyday.  Living with Chronic Pain is very hard and even with the best support system it helps to be around others that can relate first hand and knows what it is like to live it everyday. Below is the direct link.  Hope to see you join our ever growing group !  This is a great group of really caring people that know first hand what you are going through so what are you waiting on?  Come join us!

Backbone rock! The worlds shortest tunnel.
(this was what i was referring to when I was talking about climbing steps to get to the top.  Doesn't look very high but it really is and is something you need to see for yourself to respect the beauty that is seen once you reach the top! )
Me throwing leafs up in the air.  Showing my kids its ok to be silly sometimes and not care what everybody thinks about you because......

You only live once so you
might as well make the best of it!
